The theme of Saint Sebastian is a classic in the artistic production of Luigi Ontani who used it in various techniques, photos, ceramics and watercolours. We know that Saint Sebastian was martyred for not having renounced his faith, so Ontani during his life was and is criticized, sometimes harshly, for his political beliefs and his lifestyle. In the case in question it is therefore a photo hand-painted in watercolours by Ontani. Saint Sebastian is depicted as in religious iconography, that is, tied to a pole or tree and pierced by arrows, in our case a single arrow straight to the heart. Of notable interest is the cloth that covers the private parts of Saint Sebastian both for the colour, red, and for the notable mastery of representation. In the background a forest with brushwood at the feet of the saint.
