In this work we like to imagine Riccardo Guarneri standing on a beach with his eyes on the horizon of the sea. Guarneri transfers on paper the colorful sensations that his eye perceives by lowering his gaze from the sky to the shoreline. So let's look at the work from top to bottom. We have a blue sky that turns almost gray and then gray at the surface of the water that the glows of the sun make clear with iridescent ripples. As we approach the bottom edge of the picture the colors change and it is the changes that Guarneri will have observed as his gaze proceeded from the sea horizon to the beach.
