This work by Salvo represents a port. In fact, we notice a crane, a ship moored at the quay, trolleys for handling the load, a hangar on the right. A setting sun casts a soft light on the scene. In particular, the background is a sloping set from yellow to almost dazzling white on the right of the painting. The soft application of color, which involves a considerable number of steps, is typical of Salvo's painting of that period. The elements that make up the work are painted in a simple, almost metaphysical way because Salvo does not put the accent on the composition but on the light that emanates from the painting.
