In this work by Roberto Crippa the spiral is black on a bright red background. It is therefore a typical work of Crippa; on a background of various color and on a support that can be cardboard or canvas the artist represents a spiral. The inspiration for this series of works is the passion for acrobatic flight that Crippa had. In fact, spiral lines are a graphical representation of the evolutions that an aircraft in flight performs. Crippa used the small airport located in Bresso, near Milan. He had two flight accidents, survived the first, but the second was fatal because he lost his life.
