This work by Roberto Crippa belongs to the "Landscape" cycle. This cycle is essentially divided into two trands, that of marine views and that of mountain views. Crippa's work in question refers to a marine view. In fact, the work is divided into two parts, the upper bright red one that symbolizes the sky at sunset and the lower one that symbolizes instead the sea and a portion of the beach. In the sea two suns are about to fall, one is red and the other is black. The latter partially overhangs the red one and is probably a trick to enhance the depth of the painting. Centrally at the bottom from the mainland there is a cliff that Crippa represents with corks and that give three-dimensionality to the work. On this page is also reproduced the work in its frame and a video that has the sole purpose to appreciate the three-dimensionality of the same.
