On this gray cardboard Calzolari spreads lumps of salt on the left side while the entire cardboard is crossed by strips of salt of reduced width which have a curvilinear shape. Below, with a horizontal pattern, Calzolari features a strip of tobacco. At the top right there are dried rose petals glued. This transfer of dried plant elements onto the works is a constant among Arte Povera artists and symbolizes the transience of things. The cardboard is of consistent thickness while the salt and tobacco additions are stabilized to prevent them from crumbling over time.
