This work by Mario Raciti belongs to the "Mythologies" series. They all share the same title, but each piece refers to a specific mythological context that is usually difficult to pinpoint. In our case, we notice some roughly curved figures that we can assume represent the entrance to Hades, the realm of the dead. Some black spots can be interpreted as the Styx Marsh, which in some literary works was mistakenly confused with the Acheron, the river Charon crossed to lead the souls of the dead to Hades.
