This "Three Lines with Arabesque" by Giorgio Griffa is a work unusually full of signs. The three lines, blue, are drawn at the bottom starting from the left and under these lines is painted the Arabesque. The number 1463, in red, is painted in the upper right. Also at the top we find circular lines and outlines between these lines. Under these outlines are painted signs resembling x. The fullness of the canvas, the bright colors of the signs, red, orange, magenta, light blue, and the lines denote a day of good humor, convey joy, desire to live, even if the unknowns, the "X", are many. It is an invitation to taste the present and to plan with confidence for the future.
