Last Monday, October 7, 2025, the retrospective exhibition of Mario Ceroli opened at the Galleria Nazionale di Arte Moderna e Contemporanea, located in Rome in the enchanting setting of Villa Borghese. Since the age of eighteen, Ceroli has always worked with wood, preferring Russian pine. He is the only sculptor who works by addition rather than subtraction. Indeed, his sculptures are composed of sheets of wood glued together in sufficient quantity to achieve the desired effect.
